A construction company had many sites and multiple sub-contractors across each site however they had no way of managing and monitoring this performance to make better contracting decisions for future sites. Who is the “best” electrical contractor was a difficult question to answer.
Customisation of SharePoint Online (Office 365) allowed user to use their existing credentials to access the SharePoint web platform. Within this site ALL the data per site (drawings, insurances, health and safety) were saved giving a single point of reference for internal staff and external contractors.
More importantly the site managers would rate each of the contractors on the site on certain metric each week (Punctuality, quality of work, snags, health and safety). This allows the site manager to see how his own site is performing but also companywide the same contractors on multiple sites were rated providing the business directors and overall contract manager a view of the performance of all sub-contractors across all sites. The next site or tender they have… they now know who to choose to deliver.
